What happens when you meet destiny in the present?
Where the experience of your greatest visions and desires becomes your present moment, the feeling is so surreal that you can’t help but wonder if you are walking on earth, or imagining the experience.
Does it even matter?
The world around me walks seemingly unconsciously. People wake and work redundantly, circling around them selves, chasing the clock, the schedule and the routine of life.
Is anyone truly awake?
Why should they care if I walk by them in a magically destined dream state… living from an internal experience of personal truth and smiling, in secret? I appear to be awake. I appear to be living the same life as them, but inside I am not. I am dreaming and connecting to a destiny that feels like my reality, because I make it so.
“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in our selves.” – William Shakespeare
I’ve always dreamt of a destined life.
A life where my true purpose is my true reality.
A life where voices and opinions of others disappear into the wind and the endless search of waiting and needing something outside of my self is over. At last, a destined state of mind of purposeful love and happiness overpowering the tendency towards fear, doubt, mass conformity and confusion.
Deep within, we all hope for a personalized destiny that will someday find us or magically actualize itself. Some may have lost their faith. But the distinction lies in wondering if these hopeful thoughts have to be future oriented only? How can we bridge the gap and make them our present reality?
“The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
The bigger we reach inside for this destined present, the smaller the world around us holds its influence. To embrace destiny in to the present moment is to open space within that enables our own source of creative energy to flow as the constant movement within self. This creative energy then takes over our thoughts and perceptions.
“When you surrender and release the illusion of control, you begin to free fall toward your destiny of a grand reunion with your original self; a self uncorrupted by the world’s false lessons of fear and control.” – Bryant McGill
My own journey and pursuit of destiny has been my strongest emotional reality. Life has knocked me down and negativity has surrounded me. But I have never given up knowing the life I yearn for inside is the life I will live outside.
“One recognizes one’s course by discovering the paths that stray from it.” – Albert Camus
My journey has consisted of years of searching; reading, evolving and desperately seeking wisdom that would help to manifest my destiny faster. But the cliché lesson remains ever true.
When you know, you know!
Instinctively, without noise or fireworks, the need to search and/or hear something ends. And a trust in the process, together with the intelligence of time, and divine energy, takes over. I call this destiny.
“Our destiny changes with our thought. We shall become what we wish to become, do what we wish to do, when our habitual thought corresponds with our desire.” – Orison Swett Marden
So can meeting destiny be taught?
Religion and the massive self-help culture aim to guide people towards greater understanding of this process. However as an intangible experience and one beyond the realms of logic at best, all one can hope for is an opening within. Space, together with vision and will, and an inspiring motivation can help open the door.
The critical question becomes: Is there anything we want badly enough that we are willing to work our whole life towards its acquisition?
I spent a lifetime envisioning my true life. Even through a lifetime in a displaced existence. I could never understand how something that felt so powerful internally could be so invisible externally.
Was I crazy? Was my imagination too strong for its own good?
The outside world would not validate my thoughts. Most people steer you down the path of the seemingly known. More blind leading the blind. But today I stand firm that my visions and deep thought have finally crossed in to my present moment. The remaining question is only to wonder if destiny is from the inside out or the outside in.

“There is no chance, no destiny and no fate that can circumvent, hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul.” – Ella Wheeler
